The Ingström Escape Chute in Action

"The Ingström Escape Chute"® is a device that allows the safe mass evacuation of any large structure, at a rate of up to 30 people per minute.

 

These two pictures will give you a general idea how the chutes are used in an emergency situation.

All you need do is sit on the edge of the chute with your feet in the chute, lower yourself in and feel the chute grip you.

Lower yourself further, and by pushing your legs against the inside of the chute you can stand up and support yourself.

Relax your legs and you start to slide through the chute, by pressing your legs or arms against the chute you will slow down.

YOU HAVE CONTROL OF THE SPEED YOU ARE DOING

But remember,
there are others behind you.

While in the chute, you will find it to be light and airy, no smoke can penetrate it.

CHUTE CONSTRUCTION

The chute is constructed in three (3) separate layers: -

1: The Inside layer, has the strength, by being constructed of a Para Aramid fabric, it can withstand very high weight loads.

2: The Middle layer is elastic, similar to a knee support, this layer is the one that grips you.

3: The Outside layer protects you, and is manufactured in flexible fibreglass, which can resist temperatures of 650º - 800º C.

CHUTE CONTAINER

Is there to deploy the chute simply and efficiently. It's configuration is totally dependant upon the circumstances of where the system is to be installed.

It also has to protect the chute from moisture and dust.
