In a multi-storey building fire, it can happen that escape via the stairwell and roof have been blocked, therefore the only
other way out is by use of the Fire Brigades sky lift and extendable ladders.
However even these items of rescue equipment have their limitation.
The sky lift would take two or three minutes to reach the tenth
floor of a building, It would then be possible to evacuate two maybe three people, then take five or six minutes to return for the next two or three people.
It can take a sky lift an hour to evacuate between 30 to 40 people.
By fitting "The Ingström Escape Chute"® to the Sky Lift 30 people per minute can be evacuated. |
